It's not just a workout, it's a way of life!

I’m John Frazier and I’ve been a personal trainer for over 20 years. I specialize in post rehabilitation. I started in personal training because of the many injuries that I have had, but I come from an interesting place as a trainer because I have physical limitation myself. When I was 27 years old I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, or AS – a form of arthritis. I can relate first hand to clients that have physical problems and I can teach them how to work around them. Over the years I have worked closely with physical therapists to continue clients therapy until they are 100% better. Proper form is essential to avoiding injuries. Together with strength, endurance and flexibility we can help avoid injuries in the future. I also do massage therapy which can help clients recover faster, and get quicker results.

I believe that the personal training session doesn’t have to be boring or super serious. Training shouldn’t feel like torture, you are much more likely to pursue your training longer and with more intensity if you like the experience. You should have someone who understands your goals. Hope to work with you soon!

About the Program

One on One or Couples Training Session provides a tailored workout to fit your specific needs. I can train you at your home or at the gym. I always start with a Fitness Assessment that will help us find your personal fitness level. I check your body fat composition and take measurements. We also check your muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular level and flexibility. It’s also important to assess your goals in light of the Fitness Assessment to set up a timeline for your progress. Do you want flexibility, strength training or need to build endurance? Is there an injury you’re trying to recover from? I have the experience in body mechanics to help you achieve your goal.

Nutritional Counseling and Information is one of the most important parts of success. I take the time to teach you how to change your eating habits without feeling deprived. By writing down what you eat, I can help assess the changes to ensure that following the program is as easy and painless as possible.

I also vary the workouts, hitting the same muscle groups in different ways to avoid burnout and create muscle confusion. After six weeks, we re-evaluate your program and check your progress. That way we know you are getting the results you want.

Massage therapy is one of the most basic healing experiences. I start by inquiring about any injuries or medical conditions you may have and gather information that can help improve your overall experience. Please be honest, my role is to ensure that you have the most pleasant and successful session possible. Massage is one of the best ways to eliminate toxins, promote joint health, relax and invigorate the body. I perform deep tissue, healing massage using different modalities that are improvised for a custom experience.

I have been performing therapeutic bodywork for 15 years and trained and certified in massage at Parker School of Massage Therapy. I am located in Studio City, but can travel to most parts of the city. I specialize in:

Chair Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
Myofascial Release
Neuromuscular Therapy

What my clients say about me

“John's been my trainer for almost 5 years now and I can honestly say, at age 47, that I've haven't felt this strong and healthy since my early 20s! He's also great with various sports injuries!

If you need to get in shape, or just want to focus on improving specific aspects of your workout, then John should be your trainer!”

—Todd W.

“John has been my trainer for quite a few years now. I had a back injury and kept re-injuring myself. John was very patient, designing workouts specifically to strengthen my back. He was very focused on teaching me correct form and even building my confidence back. He's incredibly knowledgeable. I don't think I could have dealt with this injury without him. I'm in the best shape I've been in in years!”

—Ted S.

“John is a fabulous trainer. He not only knows what he's doing, he cares about his clients. He designs workouts specifically to target the areas you want to improve, while keeping in mind any injuries or weaknesses you might have. John focuses his plan on total fitness- cardio, strength, and flexibility. He's creative with exercises so it's never boring and he is willing to meet indoors or out, depending on your needs. Can't recommend him enough!!”

—Mel G.

“I have trained with John for over 9 years. I started out to do just six months but I quickly realized the benefits of a skilled trainer. I recently was pregnant and trained with John through the whole nine months, up until two days before I gave birth. I only gained 30 pounds and had a great delivery. I came back to training very quickly, and within two months I was at my pre-baby weight! I can't thank John enough for everything he has done. If you want the best trainer in Los Angeles John Frazier is your guy.”

—Kim P.

“Weight training under Frazier Fitness has significantly reduced the incidence and severity my tension and cold weather-related headaches. Thank you for your care and dedication.”

—Vendrell R.

“I have been working with John for many years and I think he is an amazing trainer. He has gotten me in the best shape of my life and he's worked with me thru my injuries helping me avoid a rotator cuff surgery and rehabbing a meniscus surgery and countless other bumps and bruises along the way. He is a smart trainer and an athlete himself so he understands the body, but more importantly, he understands the individual and listens to me when I come in with aches and pains...and works around them. If you want a smart trainer, give him a call.”

—Jonathon N.

“After a couple of weeks with you coming to the house, I found out how little I did know. I am much better informed about what and how something should be done. You have made workouts fun and productive.”

—Linda L.

“Personal training enabled to achieve results in my body I never thought possible. What I didn’t foresee was the change in my self-confidence and self-esteem.”

—Debbie L.

“When I first began, I had very limited mobility in my right shoulder and tired easily with physical exertion. I am pleased to have full range of motion with my shoulder and an energy level that exceeded all my expectations.”

—Dan M.
