I’m John Frazier and I’ve been a personal trainer for over 32 years. I specialize in post rehabilitation. I started in personal training because of the many injuries that I have had, but I come from an interesting place as a trainer because I have physical limitation myself. When I was 27 years old, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, or AS – a form of arthritis. I can relate first hand to clients that have physical problems and I can teach them how to work around them. Over the years I have worked closely with physical therapists to continue client’s therapy until they are 100% better. Proper form is essential to avoiding injuries. Together with strength, endurance and flexibility we can help avoid injuries in the future. I also do massage therapy which can help clients recover faster, and get quicker results.
I believe that the personal training session doesn’t have to be boring or super serious. Training shouldn’t feel like torture, you are much more likely to pursue your training longer and with more intensity if you like the experience. You should have someone who understands your goals. We also check your muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular level and flexibility. It’s also important to assess your goals in light of the Fitness Assessment to set up a timeline for your progress. Do you want flexibility, strength training or need to build endurance? Is there an injury you’re trying to recover from? I have the experience in body mechanics to help you achieve your goal.
Nutritional Counseling and Information is one of the most important parts of success. I take the time to teach you how to change your eating habits without feeling deprived. By writing down what you eat, I can help assess the changes to ensure that following the program is as easy and painless as possible.
I also vary the workouts, hitting the same muscle groups in different ways to avoid burnout and create muscle confusion. After six weeks, we re-evaluate your program and check your progress. That way we know you are getting the results you want.
